Derby Delight: United Strike Late to Sink City Rivals

Two goals in the final twelve minutes turn the derby on its head as United stay top of the table.

Northgate United left it late, but the roar that greeted the winner will live long in the memory. Trailing to an early Eastvale City strike, the hosts laboured for an hour before two substitutions changed the entire rhythm of the evening.

The equaliser arrived in the 78th minute when winger Theo Marsh cut inside and curled a precise finish beyond the reach of the visiting goalkeeper. Northgate Park erupted, and the momentum swung decisively.

Deep into stoppage time, captain Elias Ford rose highest at the far post to nod home the winner from a corner, sparking wild celebrations in the stands. The 2-1 victory keeps United top of the table and extends their unbeaten home run to fourteen matches.

Manager Paul Reilly praised his side's patience afterwards: the players trusted the plan, kept moving the ball, and got their reward. The title race, it seems, is going down to the wire.
