Summer Series Decided in Final-Over Thriller

A final-ball yorker seals a one-run win as Northgate County lift the Summer Series trophy.

It came down to the final over, the final ball, and finally the narrowest of margins. Northgate County held their nerve to win the Summer Series in front of a delirious home crowd.

Chasing 178, the visitors needed nine from the last over. Two towering sixes swung the game before seamer Chris Dalton produced a perfect yorker with the scores level to seal a one-run victory.

Opener Marcus Webb was named player of the series after three half-centuries, while young spinner Dev Patel announced himself with a decisive four-wicket haul in the decider.

The trophy returns to Northgate for the first time in six years, and the celebrations long into the evening suggested it was worth the wait.
